ELIZA MORRISON
Film
I love creating short films. Every film I make has a message or a story that I want to share with the rest of the world. I’m passionate about capturing the essence of human experiences and emotions.
The Instruments of Elemental Balloons (2023)
a short film where we learn about what scientists are really researching... audio is taken from a 1970s NASA documentary, and manipulated into saying absurd things, edited, directed, and filmed by Eliza Morrison.
I Lived in Bathrooms (2025)
"I Lived in Bathrooms" is short film that was written filmed and edited in under 24 hours. Shot by Salima El Mountassir on my Sony A7 IV. Lighting, script, acting and editing all done by me. By the time I was 14, I had moved 14 times. Everywhere I moved to had a bathroom, from a young age I began to enjoy hiding in the bathroom, I would sit in cabinets under the sink and enjoy the sense of freedom it gave me. Bathrooms are incredibly transformative places, you come out changed, you purify yourself weather through sterilization or through excretion. As I grew older public bathrooms also became a place to calm myself, I struggled with panic attacks and could go sit in a restroom for a brief escape from the chaos outside. In the film I attempt to display an element of intrusive or unnerving thoughts experienced in these states of panic while also coming back to my childhood experiences with bathrooms.
Stop trying to build your house out of sand (2025)
This short was just a fun solo project where I was able to play around with layering opacity and editing.
Others' films featuring me
Dream 1 (Francoise)
Tiger Butler - 2024
I starred in Tiger Butler's film "Dream 1 (francoise)" it was such fun to create, it really is an amazing film worth checking out.
Akkadian Night Music
Steve Morrison - 2016
"Akkadian Night Music" is an experimental film using animated flour, puppetry, and stop-frame animation. Inspired by dream sequences from the ancient Epic of Gilgamesh, the film enacts a night-theater where nature, denial, regret, and acceptance dance together in a meditative space. I worked as a studio assistant for the stop motion scenes on this project.
